Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Miles of Hope! We welcome voluteers who are able to help out once, occastionally, or regularly! There are several areas in which vollunteers are needed:
- ADOPTION EVENTS: Attend our montly adoption events and help care for the dogs and help answer visitor's questions. Experienced volunteers are always on hand to assitt first-timers.
- SHELTER SUPPORT: We love having voluteers come to the shelter to play with the dogs and cats, help clean cages & kennels, do landscape maintenance or handyman services.
-FOSTER: Visit the shelter and speak to the staff about the type of dog/cat you are interested in fostering and they will help you select one that fits your lifestyle. Fill out a foster agreement and be avialble for scheduled appointments for potential adopters to meet your dog/cat.
OFF-SITE SUPPORT: We are forunate to partner with Petsmart and Petco in Denton to house some of our cats available to adoption. Assistance is needed for their daily care while at these stores. Volunteers are asked to be there when the store opens and expect to be there for about an hour. We ask for volunteers to commit long-term for this - once a week, every other weekend, etc.
We would also welcome voluneers to help transport animals to the vets office or to meet with other rescues who pull dogs from our facility.
